Service Day With Educo Africa at Ekuphumleni Old Age Home

The day I’ve been waiting for finally arrived! I had decided to join Educo Africa in a service day at Ekuphumleni old age home. We divided ourselves into groups and each had a different activity to do on the day eg. laundry, cleaning toilets, sorting out the elderly’s clothing, helping the kitchen staff made sandwiches and spending time with the elderly.

Love to the elderly

Many youngsters today do not take the time out to think about the elderly, to visit them and show them love and appreciation. That may be many youngsters, but it is certainly not Anele Nqevu and Lulama Mahanjana! These two young men, who like to call themselves “Living Change”, have made a conscience decision to make a positive impact in their community. One of the ways they have practically done this was their “Love to elderly” day held on the 23rd August 2013 – National Service Day.
