Educo Africa is excited to announce a new internship programme that aims to boost skills development in the Western Cape. The Graduate and Student Placement Programme uses money from the National Skills Fund (NSF) to place young people into paid internships of between 12 and 24 months.
Internships are proven to provide significant benefits for both the intern and host employer. For young people trying to enter the job market, it’s an opportunity to gain skills, make connections and strengthen their CV’s. Businesses benefit from added manpower and access to new talent. It’s also an effective, risk-free way to “try out” candidates and evaluate their potential as a full-time employee.
Funded internships are particularly beneficial because they enable economically-disadvantaged youth to participate, without imposing a financial burden on host employers.
